Adalah—meaning “justice” in Arabic—is Yemen’s leading non-aligned nongovernmental legal organisation. Headquartered in London, with operations in Washington, D.C. and Aden, we believe that upholding the rule of law is essential to the stability of nation states. In Yemen, we work to address the challenges created by conflict by combining international legal expertise with deep local knowledge.

Adalah brings together legal expertise, field-based analysis, and academic research, underpinned by strong political insight and strategic thinking. We understand the practical realities faced by those working in conflict-affected environments such as Yemen and draw on strong language capabilities, as well as cultural and political understanding, to adapt to the constantly evolving and high-risk dynamics of the conflict.

Adalah also serves as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Yemen.

Through extensive links with leading experts in international law, and strong networks across international and local organisations in Yemen, Adalah works to influence policy and contribute to efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians.
